Brew Crew Fever Podcast Episode 012

Welcome to the 12th episode of the Brew Crew Fever podcast. Welcome to the 12th episode of the Brew Crew Fever Podcast. This week I take a look at the Brewers’ road trip to San Diego and Wrigley. This week’s player profile is Orlando Arcia.

The Brewers lost a heartbreaker in San Diego on Monday after Eric Sogard hit a go-ahead home run in the 10th. Hunter Renfroe answered that with a walk-off 2-run home run in the bottom of the 10th.

The Brewers won the final 3 games of the series, and on Wednesday they took possession of first place in the NL Central. Sogard had a pair of 4-hit games and Jimmy Nelson, Matt Garza, and Zach Davies each went 6 strong innings and the bullpen threw 3 scoreless innings in each game.

The Brewers won a rain-soaked game at Wrigley Field on Friday, then had an off day on Saturday due to “rain.” The Cubs pounded the Brewers on Sunday, and the bullpen finally gave up some runs. The Brewers did not give up, though, scoring 5 runs in the 9th, but they still lost 13-6.

Orlando Arcia has been considered the Brewer shortstop of the future for some time now. He was signed in 2010 and made his MLB debut last season. This year he is one of the top defensive shortstops in the National League.
